RCAP maxillary first premolar — scan class representative Author/source: Prof. Marco A. Versiani / The Root Canal Anatomy Project. Source release: https://rootcanalanatomy.blogspot.com/2013/06/a-new-microct-based-educational-resource.html Source file: 062_Max_1st_Premolar_Versiani.vxm Source SHA-256: 3707e86364aa3a73c8e8b0e33d834b609410579a68e259117b77500e6c671625 The source labels the specimen as a maxillary first premolar but does not document its side. Universal #5 and #12 are explicit class-representative placements. The second is an exact reflected counterpart, not an independent opposite-side specimen. Source laterality and definitive buccal orientation remain unknown. One proper common display rotation places cusp/root separation on the buccolingual axis; placing the taller cusp buccally is an inference. The highest mobile VXM export grid is 130 x 222 x 252, with exported voxel spacing 91.573 x 45.786 x 91.573 micrometers. Original micro-CT acquisition resolution is not documented. No upsampling is used. Enamel and dentin are prototype density-derived labels; pulp is the largest connected axial enclosed void. Finite isosurfaces cap canal ends. Accessory anatomy, apical patency, exact tissue thickness and diagnostic accuracy are not validated. Every full-resolution reviewed isosurface triangle remains in the detailed display after a shared rigid rotation/reflection. Selected appearance treatment changes exterior display normals only: Gaussian sigma 0.18 mm, radius 0.45 mm, up to 256 neighbors, vertex-area/Gaussian-distance weights without angular neighbor rejection, and a 45-degree angular cap. Every non-normal OBJ record is byte-identical to its pre-normal tier. Pulp geometry and normals are unchanged by this operation. Residual source terracing and density uncertainty remain. A separately tested bounded geometry cleanup was not selected. The source permits attributed noncommercial educational use. Commercial-app redistribution is not established; this asset remains a local prototype source pending appropriate permission. Source and all rejected candidates are retained in the project research cache. Full provenance and source/derived QA are in Research/RCAP_LAYERED_CANDIDATES.md and Research/rcap-layered-candidate-QA.json.
