Information processed by Dental 3D

Dental 3D reads and renders the 3D models and companion files you select on your device. It processes model geometry, textures, measurements, annotations, saved views, and export settings to provide the viewer's features. The app does not send this content to the developer. It has no accounts, advertising, tracking, third-party analytics SDK, or developer-operated upload service. We do not sell your app data or use it for advertising.

Local storage

Dental 3D stores viewer preferences, measurement coordinates and values, camera settings, saved view names, labels, drawings, and file-content identifiers in app preferences. These records let you restore work when you reopen matching models. Source model files are not copied into this preferences store.

Saving a Dental 3D project writes a copy of the models and their annotations to a location you choose. A project may contain filenames, model content, and identifying information you have placed in labels or other text. Project files are not encrypted by Dental 3D.

Images, videos, and sharing

Dental 3D renders exported pictures and videos on your device and prepares them in temporary local files. It attempts to remove those temporary files when the export is released. You choose where to save or share the finished files through system controls. Saved images and videos are not encrypted by Dental 3D and remain at the destination until you remove them.

Exports can include model anatomy, textures, measurements, and annotations. Although Dental 3D adds no patient metadata or audio to media exports, visible content and filenames may still identify a person. Review the content before sharing; hiding an overlay does not guarantee de-identification.

File providers, backups, and deletion

Files selected from or saved to iCloud Drive or another file provider may be downloaded, uploaded, or synchronized under that provider's settings. Device and computer backups may include app preferences and files under your system settings. Dental 3D does not provide its own cloud synchronization.

Delete measurements, views, labels, and drawings in the workspace, or clear saved records in Settings. Closing a model retains its saved records. Manage projects, source models, exported media, and backup copies separately in Files, Finder, or the relevant provider. Deleting records in Dental 3D does not erase those separate copies. Removing the Mac app executable alone may leave app preferences behind.

Siri, Shortcuts, and permissions

The Open 3D Workspace shortcut opens Dental 3D. It does not accept or return models, measurements, annotations, or filenames. Siri and Shortcuts operate under your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). Dental 3D uses system file selection and does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photo-library access.

Apple diagnostics

Apple may share diagnostics and usage statistics according to your sharing settings. Any reports we receive are used to improve reliability. See Apple's App Analytics & Privacy notice (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-analytics/).

Support and privacy requests

Contact Sansar Gupta at sansargupta10@gmail.com. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send; your email provider also handles that correspondence. We use it to respond and investigate the issue, and retain it only as long as needed for those purposes or applicable legal obligations. You may contact the same address to request access, correction, or deletion of correspondence we hold.

Do not send patient identifiers, identifiable clinical screenshots, scans, photographs, or medical records through ordinary support email or public GitHub issues. We cannot retrieve or remotely delete app data stored only on your device.

Visiting this policy online

This policy page contains no advertising, analytics scripts, or cookies added by the developer. When hosted on GitHub Pages, GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security. See GitHub's privacy statement (https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement).

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy and its date when our data practices change. The current policy will be available with the app and on its published privacy page.
