Denthesia Privacy Policy

Denthesia is developed by Sansar Gupta for trained dental clinicians. It provides dental anesthesia references, a height and BMI calculator, educational monitor examples, and Session Assist reminders. This policy describes how the app handles information.

Information processed on your device

The optional BMI profile can contain a name, weight, height, age group, and measurement preferences. It is stored on your device and restored when you reopen the app. Medication references do not use this profile or calculate doses. A previous epinephrine selection may be retained in older profile data for compatibility but is no longer an editable dosing setting.

Session Assist stores session timing, last-dose timing, reminder intervals, and reminder preferences. It does not store patient names, medication names, administered doses, or vital values in its timing state. Office settings store your medication inventory choices, reference customizations, preparation presets, and display and reminder preferences. Do not enter patient information in office reference fields.

Medication, combined local-anesthetic, preparation, dilution, and infusion pages contain static references and source links. They have no dosage-calculator inputs or patient-specific results. Apple Calculator links open Apple’s public pages; Denthesia does not send patient details, expressions, doses, or results to Calculator. Monitor Interpretation displays authored synthetic examples and does not receive patient-monitor signals or save interpretation results. The CPR metronome plays a timing sound; it does not record audio or monitor a patient.

Collection, tracking, and sharing

Denthesia does not require an account and does not send patient profiles or session information to the developer. It has no advertising, third-party analytics SDK, app-operated patient-data server, or cloud synchronization. The developer does not sell or use this locally processed information for advertising or tracking.

Opening a reference, support, or other external link connects you to that website. Its provider may receive information such as your IP address and browser details under its own privacy policy. Apple services and any organization-managed device services operate under their own policies and settings.

Report a content concern lets you prepare text for a support report. The app includes its version, build, and reference-review dates; it does not automatically attach patient information, clinical records, screenshots, or device identifiers. The report is not sent automatically. If you choose Share or Copy, the text you entered is passed to the destination you select, which handles it under its own practices. Do not include patient identifiers or health information in a support report.

Notifications, Live Activities, and device settings

With your permission, system notifications display generic reassessment reminders. Optional Live Activities and authenticated Siri status can reveal that a session exists and show timing, but do not display patient names, administered medications, doses, or vital values. Medication-reference shortcuts may display names from the public drug catalog.

You can change notification and Live Activity permissions in device settings. Time Sensitive reminders are optional and remain subject to your notification and Focus settings. The optional screen-awake setting keeps the display awake only while a helper session is active and the app is in the foreground. You can disable it in Office Settings or end the session. Restrict access to an unlocked device.

The app does not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts, location, photo library, or HealthKit data. Device-owner authentication is used for certain external session-start actions and retained protected records. Office Settings does not require a separate authentication prompt.

Storage and safeguards

The active patient profile and previous unsaved active record use protected local files with atomic primary and backup copies. Active-case and retained archive folders are excluded from the app's device and iCloud backups. Retained legacy archives use device-key encryption. The app covers clinical content when it becomes inactive. These safeguards do not guarantee security on an unlocked, compromised, or improperly managed device.

Use an organization-approved device with an appropriate passcode or account password, current security updates, and restricted access. No software feature by itself establishes HIPAA compliance or replaces your organization's privacy and security responsibilities.

Retention and your controls

Height & BMI changes the optional profile while keeping the current helper session. New patient is available in Session Assist. After you confirm and the protected update succeeds, it clears the current profile, previous unsaved active case, last-dose timing, and helper reminders. Ending Session Assist clears its timing state and reminders. Expired timing is discarded when next loaded or refreshed. Office preferences remain until you edit or reset them or remove the app's local data.

Older app versions may have left protected anesthesia records on the device. Updates preserve those records. The current navigation does not browse, export, or delete the legacy archive. Your practice must arrange an authorized retention, access, deletion, or migration process for legacy records. Losing device-only keys or removing the app's local data can permanently destroy those records. Deleting a Mac app executable does not necessarily remove its data.

The developer cannot retrieve or erase patient data stored only on your device. Screenshots, screen sharing, earlier exports, paper records, device-management copies, and information you have shared with another service are outside the app's controls. Manage those copies separately under your organization's policies.

Apple diagnostics

Apple may share diagnostics and usage statistics according to your sharing settings. Any reports we receive are used to improve reliability. See Apple's App Analytics & Privacy notice (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-analytics/).

Support and privacy requests

Contact Sansar Gupta at sansargupta10@gmail.com. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send; your email provider also handles that correspondence. We use it to respond and investigate the issue, and retain it only as long as needed for those purposes or applicable legal obligations. You may contact the same address to request access, correction, or deletion of correspondence we hold.

Do not send patient identifiers, identifiable clinical screenshots, scans, photographs, or medical records through ordinary support email or public GitHub issues. We cannot retrieve or remotely delete app data stored only on your device.

Visiting this policy online

This policy page contains no advertising, analytics scripts, or cookies added by the developer. When hosted on GitHub Pages, GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security. See GitHub's privacy statement (https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement).

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy and its date when our data practices change. The current policy will be available with the app and on its published privacy page.
