The fastest way to get help is by email:

Please include your device model, operating-system version, and Enamel app version so we can help you faster. Please avoid including private dental or medical information.

Current app features

The current source includes 27 illustrated procedure guides, 37 glossary definitions, comparison of 2–4 guides with 16 presets, and a separate Dental X-rays guide covering six imaging types. New procedure guides cover braces, clear aligners, inlays, onlays, and gum grafting. The Library's keyword search recognizes procedure aliases and imaging terms; it does not diagnose a condition or recommend treatment.

Enamel supports iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 18 or later and Mac through Mac Catalyst on macOS 15 or later. The in-app timer is available on all three; the Live Activity is available only in supported iPhone/iPad environments. Check the App Store listing for the version and platforms currently distributed; repository features can precede a published update.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the app collect any of my data? Enamel does not collect personal information off your device. Its bundled content and preferences are stored locally; operating-system backups and transfers follow your Apple settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Do I need an account or internet connection? No. There is no sign-in. Enamel’s bundled procedure guides, comparison, saved items, recall planning, and in-app brushing timer work offline. Apple system features and external source links may require services or connectivity provided by Apple or the linked website.

Where are my saved items and reminders stored? In the local app container. Enamel has no developer-operated server or cloud sync; operating-system backups and transfers may include app data according to your Apple settings. In Procedures, open About Enamel to clear saved items or recent history. Cancel reminders and clear the last visit in Recall; reset the current timer in Brushing. Deleting the app on iPhone/iPad removes its container, while offloading retains it. Removing the Mac app bundle alone may leave its local Catalyst container. Older backups are managed separately.

The brushing timer isn't working. Open the Brushing tab, tap Start, and keep Sound on if you want audible quadrant cues while the app is active. Background and Lock Screen sound delivery is not guaranteed. On supported iPhone and iPad environments, Live Activities must be enabled in Settings for the timer to appear on the Lock Screen. Regular notification permission is not required for the brushing timer. Mac Catalyst provides the in-app timer without a Lock Screen Live Activity.

A dental visit reminder isn't alerting me. Make sure notifications are enabled for Enamel in Settings → Notifications → Enamel. Then reopen Enamel so it can reconcile a reminder that was saved while notifications were off.

How do I use Enamel with Siri? Try “Tell me about root canals in Enamel,” “Open crowns in Enamel,” “Read about implants in Enamel,” “Compare dental procedures in Enamel,” “Start brushing with Enamel,” or “When is my dental reminder in Enamel.” In Shortcuts, procedure details and comparisons can select a specific section such as recovery or sources. Siri availability and supported phrasing vary by device, language, region, OS, and Apple settings. The Dental X-rays explainer is available in the Library; it is not one of the procedure entities.

What can Siri and Spotlight access? Only bundled public procedure information is indexed or transferred as guide text. Current-guide context identifies that public guide. Saved and recent history, last-visit dates, and reminder dates are not indexed; the next-reminder shortcut requires authentication.

Why does Recall show an overdue date or a different suggestion? A past saved reminder remains visible for follow-up. When no reminder is set, the suggested date follows the locally recorded last visit. Recall refreshes its editable suggestion when the stored reminder or last-visit date changes. You choose the reminder date; the suggestion does not determine a clinical recall schedule.

How does procedure search work? Search matches the bundled guide text, procedure names, aliases, and a reviewed set of common word forms. A match shows where information appears in a guide; it does not identify which treatment is suitable for you. Try a procedure name, a familiar alternate name, or a short phrase. Search and the bundled guides work offline.

Is Enamel a substitute for professional dental advice? No. Enamel is for general educational purposes only. Always consult a licensed dentist or healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment decisions specific to your situation.

Reporting a Problem or Suggesting a Feature

In Procedures, open About Enamel → Report a Bug or Request a Feature. Choose Bug Report, Crash Report, or Feature Request, then describe the issue or idea. For a previous crash, reopen Enamel and describe what happened before it closed unexpectedly.

Open Email prepares a draft addressed to sansargupta10@gmail.com. Review and send it in your email app. If email is unavailable or a report is too long for an email link, use Copy Report and Copy Email Address. Reports include only your description, the selected category, and the displayed app name, version/build, platform, and operating-system version. No report is sent automatically; no crash logs, files, screenshots, saved guides, history, or reminder dates are attached. Do not include private dental or medical information. A Siri, Spotlight, or other external navigation request waits while the feedback sheet is open so it does not dismiss your draft; the latest request is applied when the sheet closes.

Which language does Enamel use?

Enamel follows the system's preferred supported language automatically. It supports English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Indonesian, Turkish, and Vietnamese. There is no Translate button or in-app language selector. You can also use Apple's per-app language setting where offered.

Common controls, procedure names, onboarding and the educational disclaimer are bundled. Clinical guides, comparisons, glossary definitions and X-ray explanations stay in English unless a reviewed bundled translation is available. This avoids displaying unreviewed machine-generated medical advice. On iOS/iPadOS 18+ and Mac Catalyst 26+, Apple Translation can translate a small explicit set of nonclinical interface text, such as feedback instructions. Apple may request a language-model download; completed eligible translations can be reused offline. Unsupported or unavailable translations retain English. Citation titles, linked websites, Siri/Shortcuts responses and indexed guide exports retain their original language. Confirm treatment details with your dentist.

Procedures → About Enamel → Language and translations explains that English is the primary language and that translations into other languages may be inaccurate. If wording is unclear, ask your dentist and report the affected language and screen without private medical information.
