Information Enamel handles

Enamel does not collect your app data off your device. There are no accounts, third-party analytics SDKs, advertising, tracking, or Enamel servers. We do not sell your app data or use it for advertising. The procedure guides and glossary are bundled with the app. Search runs on the device.

Local storage and deletion

Saved procedures, recently viewed procedure IDs, reminder and last-visit dates, timer state, and preferences are stored in the app's local container. They remain until you change or clear them, or the operating system removes the app's data. Enamel does not provide cloud sync. Operating-system backups and device transfers may include local app data, according to your Apple settings.

In Procedures, open About Enamel to clear saved items or recently viewed history. In Recall, cancel the reminder and clear the last visit separately. In Brushing, reset the timer to clear the current session. Removing the app from an iPhone or iPad removes its container; offloading retains app data. Removing the app bundle on a Mac may leave its local container. Older device backups are managed separately through Apple settings.

Notifications and Live Activities

If you allow notifications, Enamel gives your chosen reminder date to the operating system to schedule a local alert. Notification previews may appear on your Lock Screen according to your settings. The brushing timer can show its state in a Live Activity on supported devices. These features do not send data to an Enamel server. You can turn them off in system settings.

Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight

Enamel makes its bundled educational catalog available to Apple system search and shortcuts. If you use a reminder shortcut, Apple system features can present the reminder date after required authentication. Your use of Apple features, including their processing and retention, is governed by your settings and Apple's privacy terms. Enamel does not upload your history or reminder dates to a developer-operated service.

External references

Opening a reference uses your browser. The destination website may receive your IP address and browser request information under its own privacy policy. Enamel does not attach your saved items, history, or reminder dates to those links.

Children's privacy

Enamel does not collect app data off the device from children or adults. Parents and caregivers should supervise children's use and follow their dentist's advice.

Apple diagnostics

Apple may share diagnostics and usage statistics according to your sharing settings. Any reports we receive are used to improve reliability. See Apple's App Analytics & Privacy notice (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-analytics/).

Support and privacy requests

Contact Sansar Gupta at sansargupta10@gmail.com. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send; your email provider also handles that correspondence. We use it to respond and investigate the issue, and retain it only as long as needed for those purposes or applicable legal obligations. You may contact the same address to request access, correction, or deletion of correspondence we hold.

Do not send patient identifiers, identifiable clinical screenshots, scans, photographs, or medical records through ordinary support email or public GitHub issues. We cannot retrieve or remotely delete app data stored only on your device.

Visiting this policy online

This policy page contains no advertising, analytics scripts, or cookies added by the developer. When hosted on GitHub Pages, GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security. See GitHub's privacy statement (https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement).

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy and its date when our data practices change. The current policy will be available with the app and on its published privacy page.
